Lunar New Year is a time filled with colour, connection and centuries old traditions. Celebrated by many cultures across Asia, it marks the beginning of the lunar calendar and is a moment to farewell the old year and welcome new opportunities, good fortune and fresh energy.

In 2026, we welcome the Year of the Horse 🐎 a year associated with confidence, strength, optimism and forward momentum. It’s said to be a year that encourages action, positivity and embracing new opportunities, making it the perfect time to reset, reconnect and look ahead.

To celebrate, we spoke with some of our wonderful retailers to hear what Lunar New Year means to them, the traditions they cherish, and their wishes for the year ahead.

  1. What does Lunar New Year mean to you?
    Lunar New Year is all about family coming together, enjoying each other’s company and sharing blessings. We give red envelopes 🧧 to the children and wish one another good fortune. It brings new energy, fresh vibes and opens the door to new opportunities and positivity.
  2. Is there a tradition or food you enjoy during Lunar New Year?
    Food is very important to us. Our family enjoys home-cooked meals, especially traditional bánh tét, which is similar to a Christmas cake and holds a lot of meaning for our celebrations.
  3. What is your wish for the new year?
    My wish is simple — good health for myself, my family and everyone around me. I hope for peaceful days at home and a happy, positive business environment throughout the year.

Koon Hong

  1. What does Lunar New Year mean to you?
    It’s a special time where family comes first — being together to celebrate, eat and truly appreciate one another’s company.
  2. Is there a tradition or food you enjoy during Lunar New Year?
    We enjoy noodle dishes, dumplings and meatballs. Each dish symbolises something meaningful, like long life, unity and togetherness.
  3. What is your wish for the new year?
    We greet each other with “Gong Xi Fa Cai”, wishing health and prosperity. Our hope is that everyone enjoys a happy new year surrounded by family and friends.

  1. What does Lunar New Year mean to you?
    For me, Lunar New Year represents new beginnings — a time to reconnect with loved ones and welcome a fresh start filled with positivity and good fortune.
  2. Is there a tradition or food you enjoy during Lunar New Year?
    Food brings everyone together. Sharing seafood, noodles, dumplings and rice cakes around the table creates a warm, special feeling that defines the celebration.
  3. What is your wish for the new year?
    I wish everyone good health, happiness and prosperity, and a year filled with joyful moments and meaningful connections.
