When you first meet Tony, you can instantly see just how passionate and committed he is to his customers. “I have this regular customer named Rose, and every day she comes in to me for her bacon. It’s always great seeing her happy face in the shop.”
During his time as Store Manager over the past 3 years, Tony has felt a natural desire to help educate and convenience his customers when it comes to their weekly grocery shop. “I like making It easier to help my customers decide what’s for dinner. It makes me feel proud to hear about how much they love the steak I recommended to them.”
He ensures that his butchery has a range of quality meat products, but more importantly a variety of convenient, creative options that help his customers enjoy quality food, despite their busy lifestyles. “We have a beef stir-fry that everyone enjoys. Its quick, convenient and suits our busy, hard-working customers.” Another key reason as to why Chop Butchery has a loyal, recurrent customer base is the cooking tips and information Tony happily shares with his customers.
A favourite tip Tony loves to share, “I’m often asked the tip to cooking the perfect steak. It's such a simple tip, but it goes a long way and is crucial to perfecting your steak. With a knife, make a small poke or cut into the body of the steak. If the juice runs clear, it’s ready. If it’s a little bloody, it’s medium-rare. I love sharing this with my customers, and for them to let me know how it went for them.”
After 16 years as a qualified butcher, Tony loves the fact that each day he can not only perform his butchery skillset, but also use his management skills in developing his team, coaching his apprentice butchers, and making his store one where his customers come back each week. “I love sharing my knowledge with my apprentices as well as my using my management skillset to continually work towards a common goal for our shop – that is to provide great quality produce, with memorable customer service.”
