If you’ve ever strolled through Penrith and spotted a beautiful old cottage-turned-café buzzing with happy locals, chances are you’ve discovered Percy Plunkett. Tucked in the Dining Precinct at Nepean Village, this little gem has fast become one of the area’s most beloved spots — and it’s not hard to see why.

Percy Plunkett isn’t just a café — it’s a piece of Penrith’s history. The cottage was originally built way back in 1866 and was home to the Plunkett family from the late 1920s. Today, it’s been brought back to life by local legend Phil Hallani and his family, who had a vision to restore the old home and create something truly special for the community.

And they’ve absolutely nailed it.

From the moment you walk through the garden gates, there’s this warm, welcoming energy that just feels like home. The blend of heritage charm and modern style is spot on — and don’t even get us started on the food. Think hearty brekkies, loaded burgers, and seriously good coffee. It’s the kind of place where you can take your mum for brunch, meet friends for a catch-up, or just sit and soak in the good vibes.

But what really makes Percy Plunkett stand out is the people behind it. Phil and his family are passionate about Penrith. They’ve poured their hearts into this café, and it shows in every detail — from the friendly staff to the thoughtful menu and the care they’ve taken to honour the history of the home.

Here at Nepean Village, we’re so proud to have Percy Plunkett as our neighbour. It’s more than just a local business — it’s part of the community fabric. Phil and his team have created a space where memories are made, and they mean so much to all of us who call Penrith home.

Whether you’re a regular or planning your first visit, one thing’s for sure — Percy Plunkett isn’t just a café. It’s a love letter to Penrith.
